Wake UP Rome!
It's Your Money. Shouldn't It Be at Your Credit Union?

The bank industry reported a net income of 105 billion dollars last year, according to
Marketwatch.com, due to customers paying high interest rates and fees.

Credit Unions - A Better Way

Here are a few real-life examples from the Credit Union National Association that illustrate the credit union difference in dollars and cents:
  • Checking accounts at credit unions cost an average of 40% less than bank checking accounts.
  • On used car loans, credit unions charge an average of 30% less interest than banks.
  • Credit union households in Georgia saved an average of $209 last year due to better rates and lower fees - that's over 1.9 billion dollars in one year!
What's the Difference?

The difference is ownership. Credit unions are not-for-profit cooperatives - they're actually owned and controlled by the same people they serve in the communities they serve. Each member, no matter how much he or she has on deposit, has an equal voice in director elections.

Ownership has its advantages, including superior service, attractive loan rates, and lower fees.

Banks, on the other hand, are owned and controlled by outside shareholders who expect to earn profits.

What Should I Do?

It's pretty simple - move your accounts to a credit union. At just about any credit union, you'll find every financial service and all the conveniences you and your family need, including nationwide ATM access, online banking access, mortgages, investments, and much more.

Of course, if Northwest Georgia Credit Union membership is offered as an employee benefit at your job, becoming a member is easy!
